Last Blog of 2009

Funny bumper sticker: I'M ONLY SPEEDING BECAUSE I HAVE TO POOP.

Let's end the year 2009 with a smile and pray that 2010 will be a better year for all of us. I haven't made any New Year's resolutions because I never keep them beyond New Year's Day anyway; so if I don't make any I won't be disappointed in my failure to keep them.

Happy New Year dear friends. I'll see you in 2010.

Hello

Wow! It's been a while since I posted something. I had to put my older cat Molly to sleep about a month ago. That's always hard. The other cats miss her as much as I do.

I could go on and on about the health care bill Obama is trying to shove down our throats but I'm tired of all the crap he and his Chicago cronies are trying to get pushed through the Senate. I'm even tired of talking about it.

Everyone have a wonderful Christmas and if someone says, "Happy Holidays" to you; look them in the eye, smile, and say, "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" That's what the season is about---Christ. Don't be afraid to say so.

Leaving Facebook

Well, I've been on Facebook for some time now and I decided today that it was time for me to get off Facebook and do more beneficial things. Why am I leaving? I decided that for me it would be foolish to stay.

Now don't start sending me angry emails. I'm only speaking for myself. If you like it; stay. I can only do what I feel is best for me. It seemed beneficial for a while because I did find some contacts that I had lost track of, but lets face it, I lost track of them in the first place because they were acquaintances, NOT real friends. We all lose touch with acquaintances in our lives. Sometimes it's because we move, or because we change jobs and those people begin to fade as our new interests take precedence. But we never lose contact with our REAL friends..those people who are nearest and dearest to our hearts, and in the end.....they are the ones we have strong connections with and will never fade into the past.

So I guess in summation, I just don't need Facebook. I'll use the phone when I want to speak to my dearest friends to let them know what's going on in my life and theirs. As for the "acquaintances" I've reconnected with through Facebook? Something tells me they won't even know I'm gone..........

Nobama Takes Over The Networks Tonight

Nobama is making another attempt tonight on all the networks, to ram this health care bill up our collective anuses. Never mind that all the polls suggest that the MAJORITY of Americans don't want this. Even the Dems have their doubts, but you know that Nobama doesn't like being told no, so hence his hijacking of our networks to give us all LIES (not facts) to help persuade us to come over to his side.

And just for those of you who think it is a wonderful idea....you better check the facts yourself and talk to a few Canadians who have socialized medicine. Maybe then you'll open your eyes. There's no such think as a free lunch folks! When you put government in the mix, it will fail and it will cost over 1.8 TRILLION dollars. Ask our elected officials if they're willing to give up their cushy health care plan for the plan they are proposing for us. That will tell you more then any prime time network spiel Nobama is planning tonight.

I've been pretty quiet for a while. Can't believe this crazy world sometimes. I just shake my head and turn off the news. You can only take so much sometime.

Nobama just keeps going and going. He's the energizer bunny personified. He can't spend money fast enough. Everything is URGENT and has to be pushed through before anyone can even read what it's all about. I think what I am most amazed about is how vain he is. Everything is all about him, no matter how minor. Even at The All Star Game in St. Louis when he pitched the ball to Pujols---he had a talk with Pujols before hand and asked him to catch the ball even if he had to run to it. Can you believe that kind of vanity? It just boggles my mind.

SotoMayor will be nominated. The Repubs asked her some questions but let me remind you it was nothing like the bloodbath the Dems put Alito through when he went through the nomination process. Alito's wife was in tears, remember? The Dems can be so two faced. They're tearing this country apart and pitting American's against American's. Where is all that "reach across the aisle" stuff we heard before Nobama was elected??

The CIA so called hit list against top Al Queada leaders? What a great idea! Am I the only one who doesn't see anything wrong with that? I have come to the conclusion that Leon Panetta is a pantywaist.

I saved the best for last: Did you hear about the officer who was called back to Iraq or Afghanistan for another tour of duty? It was a short blurb in the paper (naturally). He's a Major or officer of some sort and he refuses to go and cites the fact that our "commander in chief" has no right to order him to go since he is not really the "commander in chief" BECAUSE Nobama can't prove unequivocally that he is a US citizen, therefore he can't command anything. I absolutely love the unmitigated gall of this officer to question Nobama's heritage. ROTFLMAO! GOOD FOR HIM! And with that I'll sign off....

Well, unless you live in a cave, by now you are aware that two celebs died this week on the same day: Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett

I was never a big Michael Jackson fan. I liked some of his music but not enough to go out and buy. I loved to see him dance though! He was a troubled soul from early on and only became more so as he got older.

I never believed the sexual molestation charges (he was acquitted in 2005). He just seemed an easy prey for some people. I was sad to hear of his passing. The press is clamoring for details of course. Was he on major pain killers? Was it a drug overdose gone wrong?

Do we really need to know? In the end, he's still gone. All the money and fame in the world don't mean anything in that crucial moment when you meet your Maker. It's a lone journey with no screaming fans present. I hope you're at peace Michael. You deserve that.

I loved Farrah Fawcett! Everyone remembers her "big hair" and that famous poster that sold more then any other poster in all time. Every teenage boy had that poster on his wall in the late seventies and into the eighties. I wore my hair Farrah Fawcett style way into the nineties.

Her fight with cancer finally ended. Her life was over way too soon. She was a courageous lady and will always be remembered for the valiant fight she made for her life. Sadly, Michael Jackson died the same day and she did not get the recognition she deserved because his death upstaged hers. You're gone but not forgotten Farrah. Rest in peace. You deserve it.

Is It Me???

Well, just got into a debate with two of my liberal friends about health reform. I told them that the bill, as it stands right now would cost 1.4 TRILLION dollars and would only insure one third of the 47 million who are not insured at this time.

So what about the rest? How is that health reform? And where do we get the money?

Nobama just thinks the federal government can print all we need. Maybe Michelle has a money tree growing in her health garden at the White House?

How do they pick the one third who will get insurance? Questions, valid ones, to which they had no answers. They're on the Nobama band wagon. Like kids in a candy store. Buy all you want, get all you want. Mom and Dad will pay for it....

Is it me? Am I crazy for asking these questions?

You'll Never Be The Same Again....

On Fox News today President Obama was in Buchenwald with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel. It was touching. I watched it because it is a horrible part of history and a red blot on Germany, as Angela Merkel said in her speech. We must never forget so it will never be repeated.

Those who say there was no Holocaust are in denial. Visit Buchenwald or any concentration camp, and I promise you, you will never be the same again. Our soldiers who were first on the scene and liberated some of the first survivors, couldn't even speak about the horrendous conditions in the camps and the emaciated bodies of the survivors. There are some things too horrible for the human mind to comprehend.

There is an eerie silence when you visit one of the camps. It's like walking on hallowed ground in remembrance of all who died there. You will cry, and you will be intensely angry that such a thing could ever have happened. You will think about it. The image will never leave you. You will never be the same again..........

Paper Tiger

North Korea is messing with us again. They shot off a nuclear missile under ground a day ago and today they fired some other missiles in defiance of the United Nation sanctions. Of course, the UN will fire off a nasty letter to them (what a joke) warning them about this. North Korea is sending a BIG F*** You to Obama and the rest of the world. There really isn't anything we can do.

The Chinese and Russians could cut off their oil supplies but they won't. We'll ask China for help in reigning in North Korea. We have to seek help from China. We don't have the clout we used to and sadly, China owns us because we keep borrowing from them. What a mell of a hess we find ourselves in.

We're not a super power power anymore folks. China has us in their pocket. No one is afraid of us. Obama wants to make "nice" with these corrupt countries. Where will it all end? Where ever it ends, it won't be pretty. I remember when we had clout and countries feared us. Kiss those days good bye folks. Obama is bringing this country to shame. Is that enough hope and change for those of you who voted for him?

Willy and the Ice Cream Truck

Those of you who follow my blog are aware that Willy is my five year old gray, silver, and black male tabby cat. I've raised him since he was six weeks old so he has never known another home but mine, and he has never been outside.

Monday afternoon the ice cream truck came down my street and stopped right in front of the house as some kids up the street came running for ice cream.

Willy has never heard the ice cream truck and this thing was loud. Bells were clanging and since it stopped in front of my house and all the windows were open, it was almost deafening.

Willy was napping with the other cats when this occurred, and all of a sudden he came flying off the back of the sofa where he had been sleeping. His ears were back, his eyes were huge and his tail was as bushy as his body. His fur was standing up on his back! He was terrified!

He stood by the door for a moment and then with all the courage he could muster.....he growled! I laughed out loud. He was certain a simple hiss would not do in this situation, that something more serious was called for, so he growled..like a dog! That growl seemed to calm him down and gave him a false sense of bravado. He finally calmed down, and his fur settled down and his tail returned to its normal size. He jumped back up on the back of the sofa to resume his nap.

Willy had conquered the ice cream truck and he could once again claim victory over the outside world he doesn't know anything about.

I still smile when I think about it.......

Real Life Drama

CBS airs a show called "Flash Point" every Friday night. If you haven't watched it, give it a try. It's about a group of people who are on a police Swat team, or in this case; called the Strategic Response Unit (SRU). It's not a reality show but it could be. The training that goes into becoming one of these responders is amazing! Naturally, they are in excellent shape and part of their job requirement is to work out daily for several hours to stay in shape. Also, psychologically, they have training in how to diffuse difficult situations and to get "inside" a killer's head when pushed to the breaking point.

Last night's episode was about a kid who was being bullied in high school. You know the kid--the one who doesn't fit in with the crowd. He looks geeky, doesn't have the social skills most kids do. Comes from a less then good home whose parents just aren't there for him. We all knew kids like that, or maybe we were a kid like that. He's bullied by the popular kids (in this case the dumb football jock and his friends).

So the kid who has had all he can stand and been humiliated one too many times goes home to an indifferent parent and gets a gun and takes matters into his own hands at school. That's when the SRU team becomes involved.

It was an excellent episode and I actually watched it twice so far (thanks to my DVR). I never watch a show twice so that alone tells you how moved I was by this episode. I will probably watch it again. The men and woman on this team should be any kid's hero. Someone to look up to and strive to become on top of their game while doing a great service to us.

Watch an episode of Flash Point and see if you don't agree with me. Sometimes things don't end well because this show mirrors true life and sometimes things don't always get neatly tied up in pretty bows. Maybe you can catch this particular episode in rerun season. You won't be disappointed and you'll become a fan of the show, I guarantee it.

Blessings

Today has been such a beautiful beginning of summer day! I got up early so I could really enjoy it.

Do you ever just get up in the morning and thank God that you're alive and breathing? That you had an uninterrupted good nights sleep? That you're able to see and smell and hear the beauty around you? These are called true blessings my friends.

No matter what's going on in this world and how bleak the news media may make it seem, just remember to put a smile on your face, thank the good Lord you woke up this morning and count your many blessings, and just enjoy the day!

Procrastinator Personified

I've slowly been recovering since my best friend left to go home Friday. Man, I am just wiped out! The cats are all wiped out too. They've been prickly with each other since she left. What's that all about? Constant sniping and swatting at each other. I've never seen anything like it.

I have lot of things to do, but have been putting all of it off for another day. It's almost 2:30 in the afternoon and I haven't done a darn thing except make a pot of coffee and feed the Fab Four the wet food they get every other day. They're all sacked out on various pillows and perches in the house. but at least they're not fighting:-)

As for me, well, I think the only USEFUL thing I can do is to take a brief nap. That sounds like a winner to me and tomorrow morning I'll tackle everything with gusto. What's one more day right?

Vacillating Fool!

BHO gets scarier by the day. Wishy, washy lying rhetoric. He's just scary! He goes off half cocked on everything! Stands for absolutely NOTHING! A man like that is very dangerous because he's only looking for popularity. He has repeatedly said one thing; then done the opposite!

What's even scarier is the left wing liberals who support everything he does. They're taking this great country of ours to "hell in a hand basket". As I said in a previous blog....be very afraid.

Be Afraid--Be Very Afraid

I'm sure you've seen and heard Baracky Obama shaking hands and making nice with Hugo Chavez. I'm sure you've heard his "rants" about how America has been bad and has acted superior far too long, and apologizing to Europe and Latin America for the "ugly Americans". (Lest you become confused I'm talking about BHO's rants--not Chavez's).

Our own president--selling us down the river--ashamed of America. We are in deep doo doo my fellow Americans. Be afraid--be very afraid. Our newly elected prez is drinking too much Kool Aid. He's just nuts! He makes America look weak. I'm so ashamed of him. What have they done; electing him to office? I bet we have another terrorist attack before the year is over. How they must be laughing at our yellow bellied weak leader that American's have elected to run this wonderful and great country of ours!

Busy Week Ahead......

Well, it was a lazy weekend for the most part. Linda has been gone for three days now and the Fab Four went from meowing pitifully and searching for her, to being royally pissed off that she left. Cats are like that you know. Now they won't lay on the guest bed she slept in and they rarely go into the guest room. They'll get over it in due time, but that's the way they are. When she comes back for a visit again, they will be dutifully aloof for a few days and then all will be forgiven. Ya' gotta love 'em!

I caught up on missed sleep most of the weekend. I haven't made up the guest bed yet, so will do that tomorrow, along with numerous other chores that you tend to let slide when you have company for two weeks.

It's supposed to be in the seventies most of this coming eek, so that will be nice. Time to open the windows and doors and let some fresh air in; or as my Mom used to say, "let the stink out". Spring is DEFINITELY in the air now.

And......so it goes........TTFN

XOXOXOXOXO

The Cats Are Looking For Auntie Linda....

My best friend Linda went home today after visiting for two weeks. She's a bigger cat lover then I am (I know, how can that be possible?) and my Fab Four are looking for her. They have been sniping at each other since she left over the comforter on the couch (which she used while she was here). They walk into the guest room and meow pitifully looking for her. She's a bigger sucker then I am when it comes to treats. I think the Fab Four need to lose a few pounds after having indulged too much.

I miss her too. It was fun having her here. We are so much alike which can be good and bad. We've been best friends for forty two years. But all good times come to an end eventually; and she had to go home today. I'll sleep a little fitfully tonight, listening for sounds from her room, and the cats will probably pile in with me. We'll miss her. We'll reflect fondly on the great two weeks we had with her here, but then we'll settle back to the old routine. Life always continues as it was...

I miss you Linda Gayle. Come back soon. The Fab Four need to be spoiled and you're the absolute best at that:-)

Shop Till You Drop??

Since my best friend has been here from Massachusetts ( a week today), I have gone shopping enough to last me a lifetime! I love her dearly, but she lives to shop! Jewelry, clothes, makeup, even junk----she wants it and buys it! I realize how blessed I am because none of this stuff matters to me. I used to be a jewelry nut, and even makeup, but never to this extent. As I got older, I realized you can look pretty stupid wearing a lot of makeup and too much jewelry.( Not to mention expensive)

She's not growing older gracefully either. She spends ridiculous amounts of money on wrinkle creams. I told her to save her money for a face lift if it was that important to her. I'm secretly glad that I am not obsessed about such nonsense.

Last night we were coming home from another shopping trip, when we passed by Ace Hardware and she said, "Ooh look! Ace Hardware! Lets go in and see what they have."

I was tired and probably not too diplomatic. I said, "What in the hell could you possibly need at Ace Hardware??? Are you planning to paint my house or do some minor repairs that my handyman who dumped me, should be doing??"

She looked at me kind of funny and said that Ace has a lot of other things too. That's when I told her that she could buy all that stuff that she needs in there, when she gets home. I told her, "You're a shopaholic Linda. You're killing me! You're not happy unless you're buying something." (Did I mention that when we aren't out shopping she wants to watch the QVC channel on TV? I didn't even know I had it on cable!)

Today I told her I was not going anywhere. I just want to stay home. She may be upset, but think of all the money she'll save today (unless she finds something to order on QVC).

I'm happy that I don't have this insatiable need to buy things. All the fancy diamond rings and bracelets don't give you any real satisfaction, or she'd be happy with what she has. All the wrinkle cream in the world will not keep you from getting older.

I realize how unencumbered I really am and how good it makes me feel to be able to say that. I'm just happy with the way things are. It's a great feeling!

I Got Dumped By My Handyman!!!

You know how when you break up with someone you care about and you're left momentarily feeling a little bewildered? Well, I didn't break up with a significant other. It was actually much worse. My all around "handyman" Mike; told me yesterday that he was more or less, getting out of the business and doing only two houses in the block where he lives.

In February his wife of forty some odd years left him, which totally messed him up. He wasn't handling it well at all and I advised him to seek therapy to help him cope. He told me he couldn't be around "power tools" and he had to get rid of his "gun" because he was afraid of what he might do! That's when I told him about therapy and depression drugs.

So anyway, I had asked him to fix a leak in my gutter and he said he would see to it in a couple of weeks, so when I didn't hear from him, I called him yesterday and that's when he told me he was going to quit his handyman repair business except for a few friends. I guess I was hurt because I really relied on him, and he was excellent at what he does. I thought I was one of his "special" customers. (Snort). What a joke! He dumped me! I have been dumped by the handyman! I feel worse then if I had been dumped by a boyfriend!!

Now that I got it off my chest, I firmly believe that when one door closes another door opens and I will find someone even better and possibly less expensive.

But really....HOW DARE HE? :-)

How To Confuse A Liberal

This is crazy! I haven't posted anything in about two weeks and then tonight I have three posts! I can't shut up.....

I watched 'Letterman' the other night ONLY because he had Bill O'Reilly from 'The Factor' (Fox News Channel) on that night. Now, I have to tell you, I've long ago stopped watching Letterman because I think he is a buffoon and he hasn't been very funny in years. But I like Bill O'Reilly a LOT. He makes Letterman look so stupid that I laugh my head off. So I did the DVR thing and watched it the next morning so I wouldn't have to listen to any of the idiocy that is classic Letterman. I just fast forwarded to where the interview with O'Reilly began.

O'Reilly did not disapoint. In the eighteen minute segment--he hammered Letterman; and Letterman took the bait and looked like an idiot. At one point, when O'Reilly had him really cornered, Letterman just looked in the camera and said, "Whatever". So much for giving facts. That's how you confuse a liberal. You throw facts at them. It gets 'em everytime!

Update On My Customer Service Fiasco Last Month....

Some of you have asked how my Customer Service fiasco with Qwest turned out. VERY long story short, it took a few more calls, then it finally became a showdown between Qwest, Verizon, and me. In the end, Qwest said I owed them $53.88. I told them to get it from Verizon. They said no, I had to get it from Verizon. I called Verizon and told them they owed me $53.88 and to send me a refund. They argued, and said they owed me a refund of $83.89. I told them that they only owed me $53.88. They said, no, we owe you $83.89. I said, "Okay, go ahead and send it to me."

I got it in five days. I sent Qwest the $53.88. It's all settled. The so called profit of $30.01 wasn't really mine but they insisted. I finally said OK. For all the headache and screw ups on their part, I guess I made $30.01!

Who says the customer is always right? :-)

Another Senseless Massacre........

Seems like everyday you turn on the news and someone has gone on a shooting rampage, taking innocent lives in a blood bath of gunfire. It happened again today in Binghamton, NY. Death count so far-- thirteen; with four very critical. Sadly, the shooter took his own life. I say sadly, because it would have been cool to convict him and throw him in the general prison population where he would have had problems too numerous to mention. That would have been far more satisfying.

It's all senseless. Your life can be taken in a second simply because some wacko can't handle life's problems and instead of just ending his life, he wants to go out in a blaze of glory and take innocent people with him. The poor victims and their families. Just being in the wrong place and the wrong time. Pray for the families and the four that are critical. But for the grace of God it could have been any one of us.

We'll see a lot more of this. I don't believe it should get as much news coverage as it does. It makes the nuts out there think, "Hey...let me do something like this and get my fifteen minutes of fame."

On another front:

BHO is in Europe schmoozing with the Europeans and generally making nice.. It seems Michelle O is America's newest fashion plate. Everyone wants to see what she's wearing......... In France it was a "fashion showdown" between her and Carla Bruni, the French First Lady (who used to be a model). And so it goes........................

Don't Be Messin'......

When Obama spoke to the nation last night can only be summed up in one word: BORING! He made a gaffe in the pronunciation of "Orion". Hmmm...not anything about that on most networks. If President Bush had made such a faux pas...it would have made national headlines in all the papers! I'm thinking discrimination!

Obama has taken a lot of heat about his inability to function without his TelePrompter. He takes it everywhere, and uses it all the time. That's why, when he is caught unaware he seems flustered. If it isn't on the TelePrompter, he doesn't know how or what to say and he's like a deer caught in the headlights because he can't ad lib! Does he have any original thoughts of his own?

He is trying to impose upon us to let him spend even more money "for the sake of the "economy". That's not flying well with American's anymore. Who can keep track of it all? His cabinet can't! He can't! Enough already. Our grandkid's kids will be paying for this mess! Don't be messin' where you shouldn't be a messin'!

(For those of you who might have a deja vu moment over those words--Nancy Sinatra-These Boots Are Made For Walkin' from the 1960's)

Obama, don't be messin' where you shouldn't be a messin'.........

Enough bloviating for today. I said what needed to be said with no TelePrompter and no mis-pronunciations.....

Haleigh Cummings-Another Missing Child In Florida

I don't know if any of you are familiar with the five year old little girl that has been missing in Satsuma, FL (about 90 miles N of Orlando). She was sleeping in her bed and the child's father's girlfriend (who is only 17) went to the bathroom and found her missing at 3am. The father was at work. There are a lot of things at play here:

First of all..the elephant in the room that everyone seems to be ignoring--he's 25 years old, so what is he doing with a 17 year old girlfriend? Isn't that statutory rape in any state? Okay, seems like the father Ron Cummings has a history of dating teenagers. Only one reason a 25 year old guy would be interested in a kid that age: CONTROL! He also has a police file with a lot of drug charges.

So I'm wondering..did someone get upset with Ron Cummings over a bad drug deal and snatch the little girl to get even? Was Misty (the girlfriend/babysitter/wife) stoned or was she gone? Her stories about that night are inconsistent. She's his wife now; they got married about a week ago. I'm thinking husband/wife confidentiality? Husbands and wives don't have to testify against each other. Convenient, don't you think?

The whole thing stinks. Maybe he did something to the child. There are photos of the child that show she had a lot of injuries. All explained away by the father as "she was playing, she fell down, etc".

Uh huh. I'm not buying it. Something is stinking badly. If you've seen him on TV he is "trailer trash" personified. (The fact that he lives in a trailer is just coincidence).

We'll see how it plays out. You'll see him on TV sobbing (no tears in the closeups), "I just want my baby back".

Florida is getting a bad rap with child disappearances. Caylee Anthony (a homicide) and this precious little girl. Also a six year old mentally disabled boy Augi missing as well. Parents, keep your kids close down there.

I've always said, "Nothing good ever comes out of Florida". Ain't that the truth......

BHO On The Tonight Show.......

Can you believe Obama was on the "Tonight Show" last night? First time ever that a sitting President did a talk show interview! This is unbelievable. I can't believe how full of himself he is. He thinks he's a rock star. Well, Leno asked him about AIG and the bonuses, and of course---he responded that he didn't know. That scares me. I think he's lying, and Tim Geithner is taking the rap for this one. That's my humble opinion. However, if he really didn't know......we are in deep doo doo! That means he's not up to speed on things and is just pushing all this stuff through and hoping it all works out!

Which is scarier? A liar, or an idiot? Neither is qualified to run this great country of ours.

I Had A Most Wonderful Birthday........

I had a wonderful birthday! You have to have cake for your birthday, so I made a chocolate cake (thanks Duncan Hines) for my birthday. I added a little applesauce to the batter and did it ever turn out wonderful! Very moist and absolutely the best cake I ever made! I didn't have any icing but I had a half jar of Nutella (hazelnut flavored chocolate spread--you can find it in the peanut butter aisle) and I frosted it with that. OH YUM! That slight hazelnut taste with the chocolate cake..WOW! Try it sometime. Like I said, the best cake I ever made! I had a piece for breakfast and one for dessert this evening. Well, on your birthday you're entitled to eat as much cake as you want:-)

I got cards and phone calls from all of my best and dearest friends. An absolutely wonderful day. I didn't even mind turning 61!

What can I say? I'm so blessed! I thank God for a truly wonderful blessed day!

Scumbag Madoff!

Good news today in the midst of the financial meltdown! Bernie Madoff (he scammed people out of billions of dollars in a thirty year period) was finally in court today and pled guilty to financial fraud, and was immediately taken off house arrest in his posh $70 million Park Avenue penthouse and placed in jail until mid June where he will be officially sentenced to 150 years in prison. He's seventy now, so you do the math.

So that's a good thing. The bad thing: His wife and sons (who worked with him) might not be prosecuted, and you know they had to know about it. So they would keep their money. His wife has $70 million in her checking account. Nice, huh? And the people they scammed, some of them are penniless. Let's hope the Feds find enough evidence to convict them as well. That would be sweet justice for all. It would send a great message that would hold people accountable for so called white collar crimes.

Do the crime.......you do the time.....and you don't get to keep any of the spoils! That should be a law!

Bad Attitude....

Did you ever just wake up in the morning, and for no good reason you could think of; you had an attitude. I mean a nasty, bad attitude. It's like you went to bed one person, and woke up as another. You don't even recognize yourself! You have no idea what happened overnight to make you this way in the morning. Was it a bad dream you can't remember? Was it something you ate that didn't agree with you before you went to bed? (I know that's not my problem--I didn't eat after six). Something bad you saw on television that you subconsciously filed away, to return upon awakening? WHAT CAUSED THIS? Inquiring minds (mine) want to know.

Even my Fab Four furry felines are leaving me to my own devices. They know. I don't know how, but they do. I haven't yelled at them or done anything out of the ordinary, but they KNOW. I even gave them extra treats. Just because I'm having a supposedly bad day, fraught with problems, there's no reason to make them suffer for it.

If I went back to bed for a nap and woke up an hour later will it be different? Will I lose the attitude between then and now? I think I'm going to test this theory after I eat lunch........

I Love Sundays!

I absolutely love Sundays! I like the general laziness that comes with Sunday. I get up later then usual and the first thing I do is make a twelve cup pot of coffee and I put a pinch of cinnamon in the grounds to make it special. You can taste the slight cinnamon in every delicious cup. While I'm doing this I thank God for all my many, many blessings including being able to enjoy a great cup of coffee! It's the little things that really mean the most in life if you think about it.

Next, out the front door to retrieve the newspaper. My paper is always by my screen door. I have a GREAT carrier. I never have to search for it.

I fill my coffee mug with the delicious steaming liquid and retire to the living room to my recliner and start to take the paper apart by sections. When I have the paper in the order I want to read it on my lap, Molly, my tortoiseshell female cat, hops on top of the sections of paper and plops her butt down for the Sunday morning ritual.

Every time I read a different section I have to lift her butt slightly and pull that section out. She blinks at me lovingly while she's purring. This is quality time for her and I. When I get to the coupons and I start cutting them out, she swats at the scraps and I tease her with them. She'll continue to swat until she's bored and then she hops down. By that time, I'm ready for a refill.

I don't turn turn the television on until Sunday evening. I like the peace and quiet that Sundays bring. I like meditating on good things and reflecting on life. It's my time with God. He and I have the Sunday ritual just as Molly and I have one.

Excuse me, I think there's one more cup of coffee left ................

PLEEEZE Wake Me From This Nightmare!

Will someone ple-e-e-z-e wake me from what has to be one long nightmare since BHO was sworn in? Let's review:

One GIGANTIC spending spree with over 8000 loaded pork spending for Democrats who have finally pushed through their agendas for their states? Ex: $2 Mil for research on sheep in Montana to encourage them to eat weeds instead of valuable herding grasses for cattle. $225 Mil to help solve "swine odor" in Iowa! This is just two examples. How does this generate new jobs? Do we really need to spend money on swine odor? What say you?

Tax cheats in the Cabinet......that just goes on and on.....

And today, Hillary Clinton insulted the Russians not once, but twice! She made two major fox passes (faux pas for you sophisticates out there) while in Russia and let loose with that crones laugh of hers to try and cover up, but no one but her was laughing--certainly not the Russians. They just looked at her like she'd lost her mind.

And just when you think the day couldn't possibly get worse, BHO gets on Air Force One today (taxpayer dollars for the fuel folks) to fly to Ohio because (OH WHOOP DE DOO) he created 25 (yes I said 25) new jobs for police rookies in some city in Ohio, and the jobs are guaranteed for...are you ready for this...ONE YEAR! Now that's job creation I tell you. All that spending on a mass scale and we have a grand total of 25 new jobs that he had to fly out there for so he could brag about how his stimulus package is definitely helping.

I feel like this is all going in slow motion and the idiocy of it all has me flummoxed. Wake me up, PLEASE! Let this all be one bad dream......

Liar! Liar!

In A Nutshell:

One Big Ass Mistake America!

In case you missed it the first time:

O---One
B----Big
A----Ass
M----Mistake
A----America

He campaigned against "Washington Earmarks Spending."
He said there would be NO lobbyists in his administration.

Liar, Liar...Pants On Fire!

Just Sick and Tired.....

March has come in like a lamb around here. Temps in the 60's. Can you believe it? Yeah, so it'll probably snow in June:-)

I'm sick and tired of Barack Obama. Every day you see him on TV holding a news conference. I mean EVERY DOGGONE DAY! Some may be only twenty minutes or so, but I'm REALLY sick of it. Enough already. I have a great idea. Why not give us a break for the next few days and maybe some of us will miss you and wonder what you're up to? NOT!!!

He REALLY Must Like The Attention!

By the title of today's Blog....you have to know who I'm talking about. In case you don't (where are you living, in a cave?) ----Barack Obama. Every time you turn on the TV there he is. He holds press conferences for everything! I think if he catches a cold, we're gonna have a twenty minute press release about it; with an hour question and answer session following! ENOUGH ALREADY!!! Just do the business that a President does and shut up about it. We don't need you on TV all day long preempting programs because you invited some mayors to the White House, or because you signed another bill. The real things we want to hear about, you won't discuss (and you ignore questions about).

Your crooked Chicago political cronies are giving you a black eye. If this is the stuff from where you came...God help us all! I don't know how you could possibly come out of the corruption known as Chicago Politics and escape unscathed. Some of it had to rub off on you and I'm sure in the next few months (if that long) it will all come to light.

And it continues up to the White House with you. The crooked tax dodgers you have in your cabinet who we're now supposed to trust? You must think we're a nation of idiots, for crying out loud! We should have faith in these people??? Because you say they're the best? Yeah, the best at covering things up maybe.

So my plea is this: Do what you're gonna do. You don't need to get on TV every five minutes and convince me. You're the President and you're showing us you can do what the hell you want to do. At least let me have my TV programs where hopefully, I don't have to listen or stare at your mug every few hours about something. At least give me that since you haven't given me anything. You know, when I get screwed, I expect at least a kiss........

'Nuff said........

Today I saw the obituary on my friend Claudia. They used a photo where she was smiling. The photo doesn't do her justice as most photo's don't. Photo's are a fleeting moment in a person's life. One split second of a moment recorded forever. I looked at the photo for a long time. Trying to see behind the smile, the eyes perhaps. Can one detect in one fleeting second of a moment captured in time the anguish and turmoil brewing in a troubled life? I couldn't see it and I looked intently for a long time.

I cried. Of course I cried. I will undoubtedly cry again over this. Rest in peace my dear friend. I will miss you.

I Can't Seem To Shut Up!

That five year old missing child in Florida (about 90 miles north of Orlando), Haleigh Cummings. The babysitter/girlfriend.....has anyone wondered why the father of the child (he's 25) and the girlfriend (she's 17 and NOT the child's mother) are together??? Am I the only one wondering why he is with an under age girl? Isn't there a law against that in all fifty states? Isn't that called statutory rape, regardless if she's willing?

I hope police find the child. Florida seems to have a HUGE problem losing kids. Must be the humidity. Saw a bumper sticker that said: FLORIDA....God's Waiting Room. Think about it for a minute. You'll smile.

Gettin' Old Ain't For Sissies!

"Gettin' old ain't for sissies." I heard that was a quote from Bette Davis. It's the truth too. Let me elaborate....

Today I was thinking about one of the auditor's I used to work with at Electrolux some twenty years ago. I can pretty well remember most of the people from those days and I can see him as clearly as if he was in front of me. He was a wonderful friend and co-worker but for the life of me, I could only remember his last name. Most of the morning I tried to think of his first name and just couldn't come up with it.

I was in the kitchen later on the in morning doing some dishes, and Sammy (my big furry feline) was sitting in between the sinks watching me do the dishes (he always loves to watch and isn't afraid of water or soap splashing) and all of a sudden I yelled, "WALT!" and Sammy spooked and fled the kitchen. I finally remembered his first name! It was truly an "ah ha" moment!

Not remembering something bothers me. I take consolation in the fact that it was twenty years ago and it could happen to someone even younger then I, but it annoys me anyway.

But....as my blog states...I'm just musing.....

Big Damn Deal In Denver.....

Well, Obama signed that big stimulus bill he's been pushing for and ramming down everyone's throat. To hear him tell it, the good old U S of A can't beat this recession and will go to hell in a hand basket, if we don't pass this stimulus package--like yesterday! Talk about pushing fear, but still 68% of American's didn't want it. We got it anyway. Who says the majority rules?

Now...why in the world did he have to fly to Denver on Air Force One (wasting taxpayers money) to sign this blasted bill? What was THAT all about? What's up with him anyway? He's flying from city to city holding town hall meetings...Has anyone told him he doesn't have to do that anymore? Hey, Obama....you won! You don't have to campaign anymore........stop wasting so much of our money flying all over on Air Force One.

Oh..and one more thing....try to do some of this stuff at night. You pre-empted my soap opera today!

The First Time I Saw Her I Thought She Stepped Out Of Vogue...

The first time I saw Claudia I thought she was a model. She looked like she stepped out of Vogue Magazine. She was in the break room and was eating her lunch and reading Reader's Digest. She got up and threw her utensils in the trash and turned around and smiled at me. Yeah she had to be a model. Later, I found out she was to be my new Supervisor at Fleet (now Bank of America).

Claudia was a great Supervisor! Every morning she would leave us a morning welcoming message on our phones before we signed in. They were always upbeat and made you smile, even if you knew the day was bound to be busy. She had a knack for making you feel special. She gave constructive criticism as warranted, but always ended your review making you feel special; that you mattered.

We became friends. She was my Supervisor at work, but she was also my friend. I always marveled at how pretty she was and how she could make any outfit look great. She was gorgeous. But most importantly, she was beautiful inside as well.

We've stayed in touch through the years. Called each other every two months or so to catch up. Our lives went separate ways after Fleet became Bank of America. We no longer worked together.

Yesterday evening Claudia's daughter called me and told me Claudia committed suicide. No one knew or had any idea. I feel as if I failed her somehow. I wish I had known her despair. I wish she had called me in her moment of desperation. I love you Claudia. I know you knew that because we told each other that whenever a phone call ended. I'm so glad you knew that. Somehow, it wasn't enough, but my friend, you were an amazing lady and I will miss you.............

Am I Missing Something Here....?

I've been pretty quiet about all this spending the Democrats (led by our new President) are doing, but it seems to me the basic principle of Finance 101 and Business 101 is simply "you don't spend money to get out of debt....." Am I missing something here?

How about that idiot woman with the eight implanted embryos in California? The doctor who implanted them should have his license yanked! She doesn't have a job and she has six other kids! She's on welfare! Good grief. How the heck did that happen?? Only in California I suppose......

Michael Phelps the great Olympic swimmer made a great gaffe and it was published this weekend in a newspaper. He was smoking pot. There for all the world to see. Some example for youth he turned out to be.

Sorry to see the AZ Cardinals lose to the Steeler's. It looked good for them until the very end. What a surprise that was.

And so it goes.....(remember Linda Ellerbee..she always said that when she signed off with the news)......I know some of you out there remember her:-)

There Is No More Customer Service....Anywhere!

Don't you miss good Customer Service? Don't you miss that when people had a job to do, any job, they did it well, or as feasibly well as they could? Don't you get tired of calling 800 Customer Service numbers and just want a simple resolution to a problem; and you get transferred over and over again; each time having to repeat your address and last four digits of your SSN? Then you finally get someone who you THINK is finally able to help you and their sole purpose is to get you off the phone so they can jerk someone else around? When you call them on it, you're "inadvertently" disconnected. Ever been there? Sure you have. Customer Service today is non-exist ant and on the RARE occasion that you think you might be getting it--you're being lied to (again; to get you off the phone).

And the funny thing is----every so called resolution requires a lot of effort on YOUR part, (not theirs) having to do things out of YOUR way, for THEIR SCREW UP! Sometimes you think you get lucky and they actually say halfheartedly, that they are sorry for the inconvenience, but you still have to jump through hoops and go out of YOUR way to correct it, and the apology is never sincere. Again, this is just a ploy to get you off their phone a little faster, so they can mess with someone else. Let me hasten to add that these are all English speaking people in the USA. One must give credit to the fact that I was not transferred to a call center in India.

That my friends, was my morning (three hours) with Qwest and Verizon (Qwest is ceasing their wireless telephone service, so they are going with Verizon). This was a total of three phone calls--one to Qwest, then to Verizon, then back to Qwest (with one "inadvertent" disconnect). That just shouldn't be. And get this, at Qwest there was no Supervisor available for the first person I got on the phone. She said her Supervisor was on maternity leave. When I told her I knew that she had a fill in Supervisor and I wanted to speak to that person, well, that's when we got "disconnected". Now wasn't that just convenient? Anyway, a total of three hours later, I've been told four different things, and the problem? STILL NOT RESOLVED! Not unless I go out of my way to do several things to try an fix it, which involves me going across town to a Fed Ex office and returning a phone to Verizon.

You already know how this will turn out. I'll take the f****** phone to Fed Ex and have it returned and get a receipt, and Verizon and Qwest will bill me anyway, saying they never got it and if I don't pay up immediately my cell phone servce will be disconnected. You just KNOW that handwriting is on the wall.

I need to take a nap with my cats and listen to some purring and breathe deeply and try to relax. This will be resolved sometime by 2010.

"Here Kitty....Kitty......"

Special About Air Force One On National Geographic

I just finished watching a special about Air Force One on Nat Geo. It was outstanding! I hope you look on Nat Geo and see when it will air again and if you can't watch it, then record it. Following that show they did a special on Marine One (the Presidential helicopter). I DVR'd that one to watch later. There's also one coming up about armored cars. I bet that will be good too. Things like that intrigue me.

When I watched Air Force One I was so proud to be an American! What a great country we live in. What technology! It's just unbelievable. I think the hardest part about leaving the office of President would be having to fly commercially again. All that pampering on Air Force One. You would have to miss that. It would be hard to go back to being a private citizen again.

A Hiss By Any Other Name Is Still A Hiss....

There must be some cat lover's out there reading my blog. Don't you just love those elegant creatures? I love this saying which fits all cats, "When in doubt--groom." I love my Fab Four. They bring me such joy and comfort. I realized the other morning at four when I went to the bathroom and they all came in from various parts of the house where they had been sleeping, to sit in the bathroom with me, that I was indeed what people would refer to as "the cat lady". I don't know when or how it happened, but that's what I am.

So they sat in the bathroom with me--watching me, yet interacting with each other. I am after all, their Goddess. I provide food, shelter, and love daily. Their lives revolve around me. So they sat and waited to see what I was going to do. I went back to bed and they all settled back in where they had been before I got up. Except Sammy. He decided he would come to bed with me and he jumped up on the bed and settled in on the pillow on the right side of the bed by my head. It's always the same side. Cats don't like change you know. They stick to a ritual religiously. I have put him on the other pillow just to see what would happen. His tail twitched in annoyance and he came back over to the right side. So much for that experiment. Did you know if you just move their litter box or food dish by a mere six to eight inches in any direction, it's a MAJOR thing to them and they need to go to therapy?

But I love them, silly quirks and all. They love me unconditionally in their quirky feline manner. I know that. And on the special occasions when they all decide to sleep with me and they take their various positions on the bed with me and they start purring, well....let's just say I don't need a sleeping pill. That purring from all of them soothes me and makes me relax. I turn off the television so I can hear them better and all is okay with the world. Perhaps we should all listen to cats purring. It sure can't hurt. XOOXOX

Never Call Me Before I Have My Coffee....

I have to make a separate post on this...Yesterday morning I got a phone call from one of my liberal loon friends. She was sooo happy that President Obama had signed a decree closing Gitmo in the next year. Here's what happened:

Liberal Loon: "Darling, (she calls everyone Darling) I am so overjoyed that Gitmo will finally be closed! What a wonderful thing to do. It was nothing but a concentration camp!"

Now, you have to realize she called me early, and I hadn't had my first cup of coffee of the day, and I am known to be on the cantankerous side until I have said cup of coffee in me, so without apology...here's a continuation of what happened when she said that to me:

Me: "You have got to be absolutely f****** kidding me! You call Gitmo a concentration camp? NOT EVEN CLOSE! It's insulting to those who were in real concentration camps! Those detainees have their prayer rugs facing mecca and they can pray all day long if they want to. They're allowed to wear their turbans (even though it would be a good hiding place for a makeshift weapon). Most of them don't eat pork so they have alternative food choices, and they eat three times a day. Where the hell do you make such a comparison???? ARE YOU F******NUTS?? That is undoubtedly the most asinine thing you have ever said to me."

Liberal Loon: An intake of breath and silence....

Me: "And furthermore, where will they go? Not even their own countries want them! Maybe you'd like to take that hairy ass ape Sheik Kahlid (the one who masterminded 9/11) and invite him to live with you? Now that would be just and fair."

Liberal Loon: (Finally catches her breath...and says, "Well Darling....."

Me: "Don't Darling me. That's the dumbest thing I ever heard coming out of your mouth. Don't start with me. I have to go and MAKE SOME COFFEE and TRY to calm down...."

So I hung up and made my coffee....and was irritated all day. I can't believe how stupid some people can be. Oh, she called again this morning and we never mentioned Gitmo at all. Like it never happened......She and I never talk politics because her ideas are so left wing and you know I'm at the other end...I think she'll think twice before she hits me out of the blue like that again.

And More On The Anthony Case.....

And just when you think you've heard everything about the Caylee Anthony case---there's more. Seems like the grandfather, George Anthony, checked into a motel in Daytona, FL and threatened to commit suicide. Can it possibly get any more bizarre? (Don't answer that because you know it can and it will). I think the poor man knows in his retired cops heart that his daughter killed his granddaughter, and his looney wife won't accept it and is still in denial. The poor man must be at his wits end. I feel so sorry for him. He seems to be the sole voice of sanity in this ridiculous circus playing out, and he finally cracked under all the pressure.

Sadly, when it's all over and Casey is convicted, I feel that the strain of all the pressure will end the marriage of the Anthony's. And Casey sits in her jail cell, smiling, happy with all the devastation she has caused, because it was all about revenge and attention. She was jealous because her parents doted on Caylee. She was upset because her dad wanted her to get a job because he was tired of supporting her. She was upset because she was caught stealing from everyone, including her own daughter's piggy bank. What a pathetic worm she is. I hope and pray justice will prevail and she gets what's coming to her.

Crayons In The Box

My day got off to a crappy start. First thing this morning I get a call from one of my liberal friends. She's so elated that Gitmo will be closed within a year. "After all, she said, " it was like a concentration camp." Well, needless to say, don't start with me before I have a good cup of coffee. "A concentration camp?!!", I said. "Are you nuts? They have their prayer blankets facing mecca, their turbans, and since they don't eat pork, they have alternative food selections....and you DARE compare that to a concentration camp? They don't look starved to me! They don't look tortured either. Where do you even dare make that kind of comparison?"

So I asked her to lay off the drama for a minute and just think about where these wonderful people were going to go? Their own countries don't want them back! What country in their right mind would take them? I suggested she invite Sheik Khalid (the so called mastermind of 9/11) to stay with her. You know, sometimes I just can't figure out a person's reasoning. They don't think beyond their nose. Goes to show ... all the crayons in the box aren't bright.

Gotta go now. I need that cup of coffee and hopefully my day will get better.

Enough Already

Okay, don't get on me until you've read the entire post, BUT this inauguration is getting way out of hand. That train ride yesterday was ridiculous. Do you realize how much extra security had to be provided for that little bit of posturing? Good grief already! The cost for this inauguration is already 3/4 time more then any other inauguration in the past! And this pomp and ceremony in this economy? Come on! If this were a Republican you would see headlines in the media demanding a scale back! And another thing...Obama is not Abe Lincoln! This is getting to the point of being absolutely ridiculous. Yes, he certainly deserves an inauguration worthy of a President Elect, but this is definitely over the top and utterly ridiculous. Enough already!!!

This And That

It's been a while since I've blogged (to the relief of some I guess). I've been doing quite a bit of reading, and watching movies I've DVR'd and need to watch and delete. Nothing much has changed. The Casey Anthony travesty is still on in Florida and just gets more ridiculous every day. All autopsies have been concluded and that poor childs bones still haven't been put to rest. The whole thing disgusts me. The three ring circus continues and the little victim still suffers.

The US Air plane crash in the Hudson River...now that was a miracle! Finally, an uplifting news story that gives one hope. What an amazing pilot and crew!

Is it just me, or are all teen age kids smart alecks? No respect for anyone or anything. I'm so disgusted with one that I have been close to since he was a baby. Someone told me I wouldn't like him again until he was about thirty. I'm beginning to believe that. I could go on and on about this, but it's just best for me to drop the subject. I do know one good one, but he has good parents. Thank God for some good parents out there. Parenting isn't easy and my hats go off to those who really put forth the effort to make their children good citizens.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Snow Day

Today I had a million things to do but when I woke up there was quite a bit of unexpected snow on the ground. A bit of a surprise to say the least, so I had to change my plans. It's really cold out, so a nice day inside sounds more in order. A good day to snuggle up on the couch with a warm comforter and a cat or two, and a good book. A cup of hot chocolate sounds good too:-) My long haired cat Sammy is always ready for a nice snuggle. He's the only cat I have who comes when he is called. The rest of them look at you like "Whatever". They only come when called if they want to.

Have a good week everyone. I have a good book calling my name. Jonathon Kellerman's new book called, "Bones". Any Kellerman fans out there? How about John Sandford fans? He's the author of all the "Prey" books.

Casey Anthony Update

A new update on the Casey Anthony drama unfolding down in Orlando (will the drama ever end on this?)--that idiot meter reader that finally looked in the area he had been reporting suspicious garbage bags and found the body of the toddler--well it seems he was arrested on kidnapping charges twenty years ago. First reports say he was exonerated. I'm sure the news teams are digging around to find information on this. I had an uneasy feeling about him. I just thought from the very beginning he was weird. I think more drama will unfold about him in the days to come. According to reports though, law enforcement is still looking at only Casey Anthony as the killer of her child.

The cookies turned out real good. Next time I'm going to try chocolate rum cream cheese cookies. These were vanilla almond. Such an easy recipe. In the comment section let me know if you're interested in the recipe. Only three basic ingredients, so you can't go wrong.

Today's Soap Box Topic:

When are we going to stop the atheists from infringing on our rights?? Now they want the words, "In God we trust" omitted from the oath of office on Inauguration Day when Obama takes the oath of office. If he caves in to the atheists and says it without those words, folks, we are in the deepest doo doo we have ever encountered. You might as well turn around and kiss your butt goodbye, because life as we know it, will be over. Those of us who still believe in the power of prayer had better pray about this. Isn't it funny that we are the MAJORITY and yet we are relatively silent about everything. We better wake up and smell the coffee or all of our rights will be gone and the MINORITY left wing loons will have everything their way.

Okay, I'll stop my opining for tonight. If it at least gives you pause to think, I've done my part. Have a good weekend All!

Happy Day. Oh Happy Day!

Oh my goodness! I'm back in business and in technicolor!!!! Thank you fellow bloggers for your help!! As I said in an earlier blog, it was frustrating me and finally almost by accident, I found the problem with the help of several of you out there. Thanks again.

It's snowing lightly here. A beautiful fine snow. It got me in a cookie baking mood. Cream cheese cookies (a new recipe from a friend). They turned out good but I like crunchy cookies, and these are chewy.Willy had to have some cream cheese while I was putting the dough together. (To those of you who don't know--Willy is my twenty pound male tabby cat). I love to dunk a crunchy cookie in my coffee. I guess I'm still a kid at heart. I get in a baking mood and have two cookies and that's all I want. So I'll freeze most of them. That way when company comes, I'll have something to serve them.

Well, I'm back in business again..so I'll post another blog tomorrow. Right now, I think I'll have a cookie and a fresh cup of coffee. Life is good!

I've been having a problem with the fonts and colors on my blog, so I've been quiet for a few days trying to figure this out (without any luck). When I started this blog I had the options available, now I don't and I don't have any idea what happened. I've asked for bloggers to help and I got some responses, but apparently I've got a major brain freeze going on because I can't find what they ask me to do. SIGH! This is annoying but I'll figure it out eventually. I'll be blogging again soon:-)

Israel and Hamas Part 2

I forgot to mention that last night on the Fox News Channel there was an outstanding special entitled, "Escape From Hamas". They will show it again throughout the week. Look for it. It gives you deep insight into Hamas and how one of the leaders and founder of Hamas had a son who was to take over for his father upon his death. The son (about 25) met a Christian who innvited him to a Bible study. He went. After much turmoil he converted to Christianity. The verse in the Bible that got him was when Jesus said. "Love your enemies". The young man said that's what moved him most. That is unheard of in Hamas. They turn against each other, as the special will show you. He said Islam is a religion of hate and death and he fled to America.

Israeli's and Hamas

The foremost thing on my mind today is the Israeli and Hamas conflict. I really don't blame the Israeli's for getting tired of the constant barrage of mortar and rocket fire over their border every day and night by Hamas. It's a stressful way to live. Hamas, the cowards that they are, entrench themselves among the Palestinian people to hide. I wish the Palestinians would unite together and oust Hamas from their midst.

If this were happening on a daily basis in our country we wouldn't allow it to happen and neither should Israel. Iran is real happy about the situation. After all, they want Israel "obliterated". Is it any surprise that the rockets and mortars that Hamas is shooting into Israel are supplied by Iran?

In a side note in my crossword puzzle some weeks ago the clue was "a contentious strip". I knew right away the answer was Gaza. Clever clue, don't you think? Another cute crossword puzzle clue a few days ago was "Eltons john". Answer: "loo". Clever huh? Anyone else love crossword puzzles?

Post Holiday Blues

I wasn't going to post today because I'm crashing down from the holidays and if you can believe it, I really don't have anything to say today. "What?", you say?

As unbelievable as it may sound, it's true. I'm just chillin'. Today, no opining from me. Enjoy this, because it usually doesn't last long. I ALWAYS have something to say:-) as all of you who know me well, already know. But today and possibly tomorrow, all is quiet on the western front. I'm spending the day reading and napping. Feel free to comment--possibly you could rile me up to respond:-)

More another time......

Friday

Today's Friday. I'm so confused with all the holidays. I keep thinking this is Monday for some reason. The holidays are behind us now. I usually get a little depressed in January. All the festivities are over and it seems to be a let down. The weather is cold and sometimes snowy, and the sun comes and goes. The next real holiday is Memorial Day. I think I need a sunlamp. Studies have shown that people get depressed during the winter months because of lack of summer light. I believe that.

Well today I'm on my soapbox about Caroline Kennedy. Governor Patterson seems to be leaning her way for the New York Senate seat vacated by Hillary Clinton. That annoys me. She has ZERO qualifications. Have you heard what few interviews she has given? The woman sounds like an idiot. Very inarticulate, which surprised me. She is under the impression that she should get the go ahead simply because she is a Kennedy. Well big whoop! I'm not impressed with her name. They released the fact that she hardly ever voted in state issues, and she has only donated $1000 in twenty years to the Democratic Party! Some Democrats are ticked off big time about that fact and I don't blame them. There are certainly more qualified people Governor Patterson can choose. And as an afterthought, and this is really petty on my part, Caroline has a real funny way of walking. I mean, she'll be all decked out and she walks like a lumber jack. I cringe every time I see it. Okay so I already told you it was a petty thing to say about her, but this is my blog remember? 'Nuff said.
